How life coaching helps you create balance in your life

What is a balance? Will we ever find the balance?

ABSOLUTLEY YES! But its all about effort-ness – not effortless habits and a unfortunately a routine. Be intentional and realistic.

Life coaching helps you step back, look at your life as a whole, and make intentional changes so that your time and energy reflect what matters most to you. Balance doesn’t mean giving every area of life equal attention—it means giving each area the attention it needs at the right time.

A coach helps you:

  • Assess where you are now by looking at areas such as health, relationships, career, finances, personal growth, and leisure.
  • Identify what’s out of balance by exploring what is causing stress, frustration, or a lack of fulfilment.
  • Clarify your priorities so you can focus on what is most important instead of trying to do everything.
  • Set realistic goals that support a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
  • Develop positive habits that improve your wellbeing over time.
  • Stay accountable by reviewing progress, celebrating successes, and adjusting your plan when needed.

Areas often explored in coaching

A balanced life often includes attention to:

  • Physical health
  • Mental and emotional wellbeing
  • Family and relationships
  • Career or business
  • Finances
  • Personal development
  • Rest and recreation

Practical steps to improve balance

A life coach might encourage you to:

  1. Identify your top three priorities. I like to look at What I need to do, What I have to do and the most important is What I would like to do – factoring in time for those activities that bring you joy and fill your cup!
  2. Notice where your time and energy are currently going – Do some tracking of your time and how you spend it.
  3. Set healthy boundaries around work and personal commitments.
  4. Break large goals into manageable actions.
  5. Review your progress regularly and adjust as your circumstances change. Life gets in the way and sometimes we are unable to tick everything off, so this is not a “beat yourself up” session, this is an OK moment where you haven’t been realistic, or something has cropped up and we need o rearrange some tasks or activities.

Key takeaway

Life coaching doesn’t aim for a “perfectly balanced” life every day. Instead, it helps you make conscious choices, so your life aligns with your values and goals. As circumstances change, your definition of balance may change too—and coaching provides the support and accountability to adapt while maintaining your overall wellbeing.

There are some great reads out there that can help you look at time management, habit building and even ChatGPT is a good start to even just start.

I like to plan on a Friday afternoon. I haven’t quite checkout yet for the weekend but energy is low and I just want to leave the week behind me. So I go for a 10 Min walk which is proven to boost your mood and energy level and then I use the last part of the day to sit and really look at my week. Remember those things – What do I need to do, what do I have to do and what do I want to do.

I will be doing more on time management and how we can use time to its fullest.

Final thought

Really think about what balance means to you, what its is that you want to balance. Making clear definitions of what this means and looks like is a big starting point. Track your time, you will surprised where your time goes. And to help you set these boundaries and goals for balance a coach can help. A coach helps see through the overwhelm and help you set out healthy plans to move forward and be accountable for them.
